DIY face mask for glowy skin

Growing up I used to look for ways to give myself the spa experience at home, because lets just say my parents weren’t really as enthusiastic about “facials” as I was.

So I headed to the kitchen and put a few ingredients together that I had at home, each of which have their own benefits and together make an amazing mask!

Its just 3 simple ingredients but lets break down why each component is so amazing! 

Oats possess anti-inflammatory properties and also acts as a natural exfoliant so as you rinse off the mask you gently slough away dead skin cells to reveal a brighter complexion. They also contain saponins, a natural cleansing agent that effectively removes oil and dirt from pores. Oats are soothing and decreases itching in conditions like eczema and skin rashes.

Yogurt has a high zinc content and minimizes blemishes and spots. It improves the appearance of pores and it is a natural moisturizer.

Honey has antibacterial and antioxidant properties. It helps retain moisture in your skin, making it soft, supple and well hydrated.  It is perfect for achieving that “glow” while fighting acne and nourishing aging skin. Honey also naturally opens pores.

OATMEAL, YOGURT and HONEY MASK:

INGREDIENTS:

¼ cup yogurt

1 tablespoon rolled oats

1 tsp honey

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Stir together all ingredients until combined.
  2. Apply to face and leave on for 15 – 20 min (or until dry)
  3. Rinse off with warm water and pat face dry with towel.

The soothing properties of all three ingredients will leave you with a radiant glow! ☺
